President Message

Hernia surgery is growing subspeciality in the field of general surgery. With the advanced of minimally invasive techniques, the morbidities associated with operative treatment has been significantly reduced compared with decades ago. The Hong Kong Hernia Society serves a professional platform for knowledge exchange, clinical research teaching and education, and International collaborations of our hernia specialists and young surgeons.

With the great leadership of our founding and past president Dr George Yang, an Internationally renowned hernia experts, we have recruited 300 members since the establishment of society in 2013 and achieved important milestones for our society. Dr. Yang, our council, our fellow members, and me will continue to contribute to the society for development of hernia surgery locally, Nationally, and Internationally.

Welcome and thank you for your enormous support. Our Hong Kong Hernia Society will continue to serve our health care professions in continuous medical education, update on latest technology and treatment, training of junior surgeons for the continuum of excellence.
